Please be advised that DOE is encouraging all families to submit consent for testing through your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) or by submitting a signed paper consent form as soon as possible.

Today I am writing to inform you of a potential case of COVID-19 in our school community, and to let you know what will happen now.

We need your help! Please use the link below to submit the lunch form for your child(ren) if you have not done so already. It is quick and easy and the results of submitting the form are within 24 hours.

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and the NYC Test + Trace Corps (T2) have determined that a member of our school community has tested positive for COVID-19 and may have exposed others while at school.

Please note the media has reported a “classroom closure” at I.S. 24. This is not the case. The NYC Department of Education uses the term “classroom closure” very loosely and applied it to the case of a staff member who tested positive but was not in the building or with classes of students.

Just a reminder that your child will be dismissed at different exit doors each day based on the last class of the day is. Please consider the following:

In order to protect staff and students in DOE buildings, all visitors wishing to enter DOE buildings must show proof of having at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. Visitors do not include students attending school in a DOE building.
