The anticipated warmer weather we will experience in the next three months will have many students, as well as adults, beginning to think of summer and activities related to that season.

I wish to remind all of our parents/guardians, as well as our students, that the “Parent” tab of our website www.barnes24.org makes reference as to what is not permitted in school so we keep a standard of decency and safety in mind for all.

A member or members of our school community have tested positive for COVID-19 and may have exposed others while at school.

Please be advised of the following special days on the school calendar where student attendance is not required and or the school day is shortered.

The DOE, in conjunction with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), is hosting two town halls for families of children ages 5–11, regarding the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine.

A Teacher will reach out to you with times you selected in advance by phone either on March 9th from 4:30-7:00 PM or March 10th from 12:20-2:20 PM.  All NYC Teachers have been asked to conduct conferences remotely and may not be physically present in our school during these meetings.

You will receive a form for EACH of your child's teachers, through Operoo and you will be given the option to choose an appointment time that works best for you.  PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TIME SLOT FOR EACH TEACHER/STAFF and keep a record of your appointment date and times. You will receive a confirmation e-mail of your date and time you wish a Teacher or Staff member to reach out to you. Teachers will contact you at your scheduled time using a blocked phone number, so please be aware of an unfamiliar number that will appear. Due to our large student population, conferences cannot exceed more than 3-5 minutes per teacher.

This Family Update provides important information about our latest outdoor mask policy. This policy will take effect on Monday, February 28, 2022.
