Dear I.S. 24 Parents and Guardians,
As part of New York City Public Schools' emergency preparedness plan, all schools must be ready to transition to remote learning if necessary due to an emergency or other circumstances. We are writing to share important information so that students and families are prepared should a Pivot to Remote Learning be required.
Student Access to Instructional Materials:
Students will access their instructional materials and assignments through:
- TeachHub (https://teachhub.schools.nyc)
- Google Classroom
Students should know their NYCPS username and password and be able to log into TeachHub from home. Teachers will ensure that digital classrooms are established and that instructional materials are available online.
Staggered Student Log-In Schedule
To help prevent system overload and ensure a smooth start to remote instruction, students will log in according to the following staggered schedule:
- Grade 6: 8:00 a.m.
- Grade 7: 8:15 a.m.
- Grade 8: 8:30 a.m.
Students should log into TeachHub and Google Classroom at their assigned time and follow the daily schedule provided by their teachers.
Attendance Expectations
Students are expected to participate in all scheduled remote learning activities, complete assignments, and engage in classroom instruction. Attendance will be taken daily during remote instruction.
Devices and Internet Access
Please ensure that your child has access to a charged device and reliable internet connection at home. If your family does not have internet access or if your student requires a school-issued device, please notify the school immediately so that we can provide assistance and update our records.

Preparing Now
To ensure readiness, we encourage all families to:
- Verify that students can log into TeachHub.
- Confirm access to Google Classroom and other instructional platforms.
- Ensure devices are charged and functional.
- Update the school if internet access is unavailable at home.
- Review this information with your child.
Thank you for your partnership in ensuring that all students can continue learning successfully, whether instruction takes place in person or remotely. Additional information will be shared if a Pivot to Remote Learning becomes necessary.
Sincerely,
Deric Borrero, Assistant Principal of Organization
