Students and families are responsible for registering for all school-sponsored events. The list will be updated by Ms. Corio as events are announced. All information is posted to students' grade google classrooms as well.
Throughout the school year, I.S. 24 offers many opportunities for students and families to participate in community service. Participation in these events counts toward the 15-hour community service requirement for the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).
Community service helps students develop strong character, leadership, and citizenship. Students and families are encouraged to plan ahead and participate in service activities throughout the year.
When attending community service events, please wear your SHARK gear to proudly represent I.S. 24! Be sure to take a picture and share it on social media by tagging @24prideofgk and using the hashtag #24DoesMore.
Students are responsible for tracking and documenting their community service hours throughout the year. Proof of completed service hours must be submitted with the NJHS application and may include photographs, letters from organizations, certificates, or other appropriate documentation verifying participation.
