Dear I.S. 24 Students and Families,
We are sharing important weather information from the DoE.
Given the expected forecast, all NYC Public Schools will pivot to remote learning on January 26, 2026. Students scheduled to attend will be expected to log on and participate in their classes from home. Children attending LYFE or a 3-K or Pre-K program in an elementary school or Pre-K Center should participate in the remote learning experiences outlined by their program.
As a reminder, due to the professional development day, students who attend high schools and schools that serve only grades 6-12 are not scheduled to attend school on January 26th, as this was already on the New York City Public School Calendar.
All students must access the Grade Google Classroom Class of 2026 (8th grade), Class of 2027 (7th grade), and Class of 2028 (6th Grade) to mark attendance. The link will be available beginning at 7:30 am. Attendance not recorded will be an absence for the day by 9:30 am. Classes will follow a regular Monday schedule, and students should follow directions from Teachers on assignments and lessons, which can be synchronous (live) or asynchronous (at a student's own pace). The school day will be 8:20 am-2:20 pm and remain an eight-period day. Bell schedule link: https://www.barnes24.org/apps/bell_schedules/
To all our students: If you are playing in the snow today, helping your family to shovel some snow, or just watching the snowflakes fall, do it all safely and carefully. If you have a neighbor who may need help shoveling, and you are healthy enough, check to see if they would like some help.
