Extended Winter Break: NYCPS is extending the winter break for the 2025–26 SY; January 2, 2026, will now be added to Winter Recess. All students and staff will now report back on January 5, 2026. Note that the addition of January 2 as a recess day eliminated SBO flexibility to reduce instructional days for the 2025–26 SY in order to meet the instructional day requirement set by the state.

Parent-Teacher Conference Date Change: The elementary and pre-K evening parent-teacher conference date, originally scheduled for September 11, 2025, has been moved to September 17, 2025.
