School Opening Update for Families

Dear I.S. Families,

I trust you and our students are all doing well. I understand some of the unknown details of school re-opening is causing some fear and raising many questions.  As a parent I can relate to this and we would like you to know the Assistant Principals, Teachers and Staff who returned this week, Custodial Staff, and School Safety Agents are preparing as best and quickly as possible under the circumstances.

Since the school start date has been delayed it has given us more time to make decisions and plan for all our students and staff in mind. By far this is no easy task, and we wish to get this completed as best we can before September 21st.

More information will be shared on our website www.barnes.24.org in the coming days to prepare for in-person and remote instruction

Attached here is a letter for families from the Department of Education regarding school opening updates. Translated versions of the letter can be found here. https://infohub.nyced.org/in-our-schools/translations/letters/letters-from-the-chancellor

Respectfully,

Lenny Santamaria
